About us
Smart Labels was established in 2005 in a small room at No. 82 ,High Level Plaza ,Delkanda, Nugegoda as a Partnership Company to manufacture Woven Labels, by our Founders who possessed a great Dream and Vision for growth.
As a small company the main objective of Smart Labels initially was to supply quality woven labels on time for our limited number of Customers in the Apparel Market. The reason we chose only Small Scale Garment Factories was because such Factories are not capable of buying Woven Labels from the larger Woven Label manufacturers who concentrate mostly on larger orders where usually the demand is higher than the supply. We at Smart Labels have analyzed the Market and identified that the total requirement of the Woven Labels in the Small-Scale Garment Manufacturers is substantial. Hence this was our Target Market.
With the growth of our business, we analyzed the risk and decided to invest in our own Factory with fully equipped Machineries. Consequently, Smart Labels Pvt. Ltd. a Limited Liability Company was established on the 01st of December 2008.
With a new strategic plan in 2008 December the Company re-registered as a Limited Liability Company and second level investments were acquired.
During 2005 to 2008 we have strictly followed the Business Plan set at the inception, and have met the goals during the planned time line. As a result , at present Smart Labels has become a well recognized and well established entity in the apparel industry.
Through the utmost dedication and commitment of our Founders , we set up a Woven Labels manufacturing plant in Dankotuwa located in the North Western Province of Sri Lanka, in 2009. Thereafter due to the increasing demand for our Products we were compelled to expand the Business to an Unlimited Production Capacity to serve our existing Clientele.
In 2010 Smart Labels (Pvt) Ltd. purchased all the Machinery, Yarn, Accessories and also recruited the staff of Dasung (Pvt) Ltd. which was a pioneer Woven Labels manufacturing Company in Sri Lanka.
In 2015 Smart Labels (Pvt) Ltd. reached a significant mile stone by purchasing the MBJ 06 Machine from the Company Jakob Muller of Switzerland and purchased the MUCAD software as well.
In 2017 Smart Labels Pvt Ltd. reached another remarkable mile stone by purchasing yet another MBJ 06 Machine with the latest technology and also purchased an Ultrasonic Cutting Machine which is the only Ultrasonic Machine in the Sri Lankan Woven Labels Industry.
